First Settlement of Tsunami-Hit Motorbikes

Rakyat Press. The number of motorized vehicles affected by the Banten tsunami is quite a lot. Ranging from cars, to motorbikes belonging to local residents, as well as having tourists from various regions in Indonesia.

Especially for motorcycles, as explained by Riecky Patrayudha, 4W Head of Service, 2W & Marine PT Indomobil Suzuki Sales (SIS), most importantly not to start the engine, because it can aggravate damage.

Riecky explained, the first step must be washed thoroughly, then dried. After that, check the condition of the air filter, spark plugs, whether in wet or dry conditions.

"If it's wet, dry it or replace it, while checking spark plugs, make sure the combustion chamber is clean of water," Riecky said on Sunday (12/23/2018) night.

The next step, the owner of the motorbike must dry all electronic connections, sockets, and batteries. When it is clean and dry, it is allowed to start the engine.

"Other with oil or combustion chamber exposed to water. If oil must be replaced immediately. If the combustion chamber must be cleaned, because if it can not cause hydrolock, while if oil mixed with water can cause viscosity that can reduce friction in the engine room," Riecky said.
