Telkom Calls All Services Functioning, After the Sunda Strait Tsunami Occurs

Jurnal Kini. After the tsunami and high waves in the Anyer region, Banten Province and Kalianda, Lampung Province on Saturday night (12/22/2018) all Telkom Group services functioned normally. Both cellular and non cellular.

"We monitored, until Sunday afternoon there were no reports of service disruptions, both for Telkomsel, IndiHome and other services," said Telkom Corporate Communication Vice President Arif Prabowo

Arif explained, even though there were several Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in the Anyer area which had not functioned due to disruption of the unit, the customer's cellular services could still function normally.

"Telkom Group through the Christmas and New Year Alert Posts will continue to monitor and continue to alert personnel to anticipate possible customer service disruptions," he said.

He revealed, all TelkomGroup ranks expressed their condolences and deep condolences over the tsunami that hit parts of the Sunda Strait region. Hoping that conditions in the two affected areas will recover soon.

Events that caused casualties and damage to a number of buildings and infrastructure occurred on Saturday (12/22/2018) night.

Previously the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that the waves that hit several areas around the Sunda Strait were tsunamis.

"Because it is combined, it causes a significant tsunami height and causes casualties and extraordinary damage," said BMKG Head of Earthquake and Tsunami Center, Rahmat Triyono in Jakarta on Sunday (12/23/2018).
